Way too excited to see Lorde tonight. Quick lil freehand drawing on Procreate with the Apple Pencil based on her Melodrama tour photos, but green because of that green light 💚

In Providence you see a lot of handdrawn type for bands plastered on street signs and lampposts all throughout the city. Here’s some type I did just for fun for the guys in Consider Yourself. Their album release party is a week from tomorrow over at Aurora Providence. Don’t miss it! 🤘// originally I used ink and calligraphy pens on watercolor paper, then refined the drawing in Procreate.

Chester Bennington accompanied me on many of my teenaged all-nighters, fueling both my procrastinated homework and my creative binges. Although his lyrics often pertained to an addiction I was too young to fully grasp, his words took root in me and his vocals [although unnerving to most parents] were comforting. Chester reminded me that I was not alone. Thanks for sharing a bit of you with us, RIP 🖤 // 30 mins, procreate app, apple pencil, photoshop cc

Quick hour long portrait of Jimi Hendrix. Going to revisit it tomorrow 👌🏻

brb, afk.

Headed on an adventure!

Pink appears to be part of my artistic aesthetic now and I feel some type of way about it.

Thinking recently about patches I want to make… here’s one inspired by how many times I’ve been questioned on a job just because I’m female. “Need help carrying this?” “Do you know how to use that?” “Are you sure you’ve got it?” // also inspired by a woman I met while freelancing who told me she purposefully put pink glitter on all her tools so the men on site wouldn’t steal them 💅

Celebrate small victories, even if the struggle is invisible to others. // The subway used to be my least favorite place on earth and I would avoid it at all costs; Nowadays I don’t enjoy it but at least it’s manageable.

This week one of my coworkers taught me about the concept of the Empowered Adult, one who recognizes that they do not have control over anything or anyone other than themselves. I’ve been really trying to tap into this mindset, so this emerged as I was convincing myself to get up and over it.

Originally saw this on Thinx’s instagram and loved it so much that I made my own effeminate version 💅xo

In February @prattinstitute used to have events to promote healthy relationships of all kinds, and would host nights of sexual education and discussions around mental health. So as February winds up I’ve been thinking about the stigma around sexual education. Let’s have it promote consent. Let’s have it promote respect. Let’s have it encourage healthy choices. We should invite more face-to-face conversations with knowledgeable professionals rather than resorting to yahoo answers for help… xo
